Governor Bello Mohammed of Zamfara State says, the construction of the Rural Grazing Area, RUGA in the state is consolidating the gains of the peace initiatives.

The governor in a press statement issued by his Special Adviser on Public Enlightenment, Media and Communication, Zailani Bappa says, the ongoing construction of the RUGA settlement is aimed at ensuring peace between the two warring factions in the state.

The statement says, the RUGA project when completed will serve as settlement for fulanis and as grazing area to prevent conflict between farmers and the Fulanis.

Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai described the efforts of Governor Bello Mohammed for the attainment of peace in the state as remarkable and commendable.

Buratai who was in Zamfara State for an Army official function was taken to one of three modern Ruga settlements being constructed by the Governor Mohammed Administration, for repentant bandits and other grazers in the state.
