Zamfara State Government has commended the Institute of Disaster Management and Safety Science, IDMSS for the capacity building of disaster managers in Nigeria.
The Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Fa’ika Ahmad, gave the commendation during the Fellow Award at the IDMSS/ACCPN Induction and Training On Global Disaster Crisis: Climate Change Perspectives, at the Nigerian Army Resource Center, Abuja.
The Commissioner explained that the training of the disaster managers came at a time when the Governor of Zamfara State, Bello Muhammed is keenly interested in capacity building of the state government officials for better service delivery.

According to her, the state’s Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development have been training its staff, with the support of Save The Children International, SCI, and now IDMSS, for effective disaster management.
Fa’ika urges the participants to be good ambassadors of the institute, and work round the clock with relevant stakeholders, to safeguard humanity.
