Zamfara State Contributory Healthcare Scheme says it has concluded plans to commence the enrollment of civil servants into the medical and healthcare services in the first phase of the exercise.
The Executive Secretary of the scheme, Dr. Yusuf Abubakar, who made this known in Gusau, the state capital, said the scheme is targeting about 70,000 civil servants for the first phase.
At the initial enrollment, it is targeting 40,000 civil servants, both at the state and local government levels.
He said the scheme is well prepared to kick start the exercise at the General Hospital, Gusau, so that civil servants can enjoy the healthcare services.
Abubakar also thumbs up Governor Bello Mohammed for establishing the scheme and appealed for logistical support such as operational vehicles.
He added that plans are under way to commence the enrollment of the informal sector, which is to cater for the poorest of the poor and vulnerable persons, who can not afford healthcare services in the state.
