Zamfara State donates N50m to Sokoto market fire victims

Zamfara State Governor, Bello Mohammed, has announced the donation of 50 million Naira to the victims of a fire incident at the Sokoto State Main Market.

A statement by his Special Adviser on Public Enlightenment, Media, and Communication, Zailani Bappa said, the governor extended the sympathy of Zamfara people over the sad event, which occurred last week.

This is coming on the heels of the donation of 500 million Naira to Sokoto state by Rivers state government.

The statement said that Governor Mohammed, accompanied his Sokoto State counterpart, Aminu Tambuwal, on a visit to the inferno site and concluded that what affects Sokoto people, ewually affects the people of Zamfara State.

He prayed for Allah to give the victims the heart to bear the loss, just as he also called on them to consider it as a special test from God.

Responding on behalf of the victims and government of Sokoto State, Governor Tambuwal thanked his counterpart and promised to ensure that the victims are attended to accordingly.

He said that already, the other side of the market has been separated, and all the traders have been moved there, to continue with their businesses.
