Zamfara State Governor Bello Mohammed has dissolved the State Executive Council with immediate effect, The governor, in a statement released by his Special Adviser on Public Enlightenment, Media and Communication, Zailani Bappa, said the Secretary To The State Government, Bala Maru, the Chief of Staff, and the Deputy Chief of Staff have also been relieved of their appointments.

Chairmen and members of the state Commissions and Boards of various agencies in the state are also affected by the shake-up, All Commissioners have been directed to handover the affairs of their ministries to their respective permanent secretaries. However, the Ministry of Security and Home Affairs, which will be overseen by Retired Deputy Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Tsafe is an exception.
Chairmen of Commissions and Boards are to handover to their most senior directors, while the Head of Service will oversee the Office of the Secretary To The State Government.
