Zamfara State government has rescued eleven kidnapped victims from the hands of their abductors through the Peace initiative by the Bello Mohammed’s administration.
This is coming even as Governor Bello Mohammed has summoned emergency security meeting with heads of security agencies, bandit leaders, Civilian Joint Taskforce, and Vigilante group.
Leaders of these groups and top officials of the Zamfara State government were gathered to brainstorm on how to find lasting solution to insecurity, such as banditry, kidnapping, and cattle rustling among others in the state.

Governor Bello Mohammed told journalists after the security meeting that the reformed bandits have vowed to give peace a chance, He says, carrot and stick approach is the best way to address the dreaded security situation in the state.
Meanwhile, eleven kidnapped victims have been rescued from their abductors after spending 28 days in captivity, The victims include eight males and three females. They are natives of Niger, Bauchi, Sokoto, and Zamfara States.
