Governor Bello Muhammed has been inspecting ongoing construction work at the Zamfara State International Cargo Airport, to assess the quality and progress of job done so far.
Governor Mohammed who expressed satisfaction with the progress of work at the site, assured that airlines will commence operations at the facility before the end of this year.
The Governor has directed the company handling the project to ensure that the runway and all terminal sections are completed, to enable it commence operation, before the end of this year.
The Governor gave the directive during the inspection of ongoing construction work at the Cargo Airport, to assess the quality and progress of work done.
In a statement by his Press Secretary, Jamilu Iliyasu, the Governor expressed satisfaction with the progress of work, assuring that air operation will commence before the end of 2021.
He is hopeful that all airport facilities and equipment will be on the ground before the stipulated time.
The Governor was also delighted with the construction of the terminal building, which has reached an advanced stage, and directed the construction of access roads and other facilities in good time.

Governor Mohammed pledged that the State Government will construct a befitting modern Hajj Camp and pilgrims accommodation, close to the Airport, so that intending pilgrims from the State and neighbouring states will be accommodated, while waiting for their take-off time to Saudi Arabia.
The Governor said, the Zamfara State International Cargo Airport if completed, would be the best and most modern cargo airport in the North.
He assured that the project will provide job opportunities to the teeming unemployed youth in the State.
