Zamfara State Lawmakers Urge FG, State Government To Intensify Fight Against Terrorism

Members of the Zamfara State House of Assembly have called on Governor Dauda Lawal and President Bola Tinubu, to as a matter of urgency, collaborate to address the prevailing insecurity, bedevilling the State.

They made the call at the resumption of plenary on Tuesday, after the Eid-el-fitri recess, where they observed that, suspected terrorists have continued to devise means, to unleash terror on innocent individuals.

They stressed that there is the need for Zamfara State and the Federal Government to think outside the box in protecting the citizens against the terrorists.

The majority leader of the House, Bello Mazawaye, representing Tsafe East, who presented the motion, under matter of urgent public importance, told his colleagues that the Tsafe Local Government Area of the state, is one of the hotbeds of Banditry.

He revealed that the terrorist have resorted to dressing like women, and are invading the communities, killing innocent citizens, and abducting others.

He noted that the situation is worrisome, and that the government must take proactive steps, to salvage the people, against the terrorists.

He solicited support to push for the establishment of a military base in Tsafe, to bring an end to the incessant attacks.

The state lawmakers urged Governor Dauda Lawal to tackle the security challenges, noting that the party promised the people during the electioneering campaign that it would combat the insecurity and bring about peace in the State.
