Zamfara State Police command has arrested 22 suspected criminals for various offenses which include murder, car theft, banditry, and dealing on Indian hemp.
It also recovered four Ak 47 rifles, one Ak 49, two magazines, 109 rounds of live ammunition, and 200 rustled cows, as well as two vehicles.
The police also secured the unconditional freedom of eight kidnapped victims at Gidan Barga and Dangajeru villages, in Tsafe and Talata Mafara Local Governments Areas of the state.

According to the Commissioner of Police, CP Abutu Yaro, three out of the four Ak 47 rifles were submitted by bandits who accepted the peace initiative.
He attributed the successes recorded between the 24th December 2020 and the 14th of January 2021, to the combined efforts of security operatives to flush out criminals in Zamfara State.

While thanking Governor Bello Mohammed of Zamfara State and the Inspector General of Police, IGP Mohammed Adamu, for their support and for providing the enabling environment for the police operatives to function adequately, he maintained that they will continue to apply the carrot and stick approach to address the prevailing security challenges in the state.
