The Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal has condemned in strong terms Saturday’s attack on Sakiddar Magaji and Janbako communities in the Maradun Local Government Area of the State.

The Governor described the attack as barbaric and unprovoked aggression against innocent people.

In a statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Broadcast Media, Public, and Press Affairs Mustapha Jaafaru, the governor said that his administration will not fold its arms and allow criminal elements to unleash terror on innocent citizens without repercussions.

It stressed that the unfortunate incident came at a time when his government is working hard toward strategizing on how to bring an end to the protracted security problem in the State.

The statement said the governor had directed the Heads of security Agencies in the State to as a matter of urgency deploy more security personnel to the affected communities to forestall further destruction of lives and properties in the troubled areas.

While condoling with the families of those who lost their loved ones, the State Chief Security Officer sympathized with the people who sustained injuries in the attack and prayed to Allah to grant Aljannah Firdaus to those who lost their lives.

Governor Dauda had sent a high-powered delegation to condole the deceased families and sympathize with the injured as part of the humanitarian gesture of the Zamfara State Government.
