The Federal Government has concluded plans to compensate 15 communities affected by the construction of the Zungeru Hydroelectric Dam who were not initially captured.
The Minister of State for Power, Goddy Agba gave the assurance, during the No-Load Test-Running of the completed Unit One, of the Zungeru Hydroelectric Power Project.
The Minister commended the affected communities for the mature manner they have handled the issue of non-payment of compensation.

Goddy Agba who appreciated the level of progress attained by the construction firm, noted that once completed, it will go a long way in improving the energy supply across the country.
Governor Abubakar Bello of Niger State, whose message was delivered by his Deputy, Ahmad Ketso, assured the Minister of State For Power, that his administration will engage the host communities, to support the project.
Ahmad Ketso called on the Federal Government to create an enabling environment, that will improve the socio-economic lives of the communities.
The Deputy Governor urged the ministry to look into the issue of epileptic power supply affecting the state, as it has already hosted three hydroelectric dams, and the fourth one is under construction.
