10th House of Reps: APC Governors endorse Abass, Kalu

The Progressives Governors Forum has endorsed Tajudeen Abass for the position of Speaker of the House of Representatives in the 10th National Assembly.

The umbrella body of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Governors also announced Benjamin Kalu as its preferred candidate for the position of Deputy Speaker.

Chairman of the Forum, Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State made the declaration at a meeting with the camp of Tajudeen Abass in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

Despite the endorsement, Governor Uzodinma stated that leadership of the 10th National Assembly is work in progress. He urged the Abass camp to work towards harmonious relationships with other members of the incoming House for a united purpose.

Tajudeen Abass and Benjamin Kalu were earlier presented by the leadership of the ruling APC as consensus candidates for Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the 10th House of Representatives that will be inaugurated next week Tuesday.
