Fourteen families of Police officers who died in active service in Cross River State, received a total of over thirteen million Naira under the newly introduced IGP insurance policy.

Presenting the cheques at the police headquarters in Calabar, the state capital, Police Commissioner, Sule Balarabe, said the money was from the Inspector General of Police Family Welfare Insurance Scheme, aimed at supporting families of police personnel who died in active service.

The Police Commissioner said part of the objectives of the gesture is to boost the morale of other officers serving across the eighteen local government areas of Cross River State.

He advised the beneficiaries to use the money wisely.
