The Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu says the Nigerian Army’s 163rd Anniversary has provided an opportunity to thank God for His mercies.

He noted that the day is also an opportunity to reflect on the journey so far, celebrate accomplishments, honour heroes and renew commitment to the defence of the nation.

The Chief of Army Staff who was represented by the Commander of the Army Headquarters Garrison, Major General William Maxwell Dangana said this during the Inter-Denominational Church Service as part of activities lined up for the celebration.

According to the Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu,
the service was put together to offer gratitude to Almighty God for His divine protection and guidance, honouring the memory of the nation’s fallen heroes who paid the supreme price in the defence of Nigeria, and seeks God’s continued blessings for peace, unity, security, and national stability.

Very Rev. Fr. Brigadier General Anthony Maimagani said a call for the protection of a Nation goes with courage, prophetic spirit and sacrifice.

The Nigerian Army Inter- denominational Church Service used the occasion to pray for Nigeria, President Bola Tunubu, and the Nigeria Armed Forces.
