The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, MACBAN, says about 200,000 cattle were rustled in Kaduna State in 2026.
The association disclosed this at a news conference in Kaduna.
According to MACBAN, the association has recorded significant livestock losses as a result of criminal activities across the affected communities.
The association’s Kaduna State Director media and publicity, Ibrahim Bayero, also said some of its members also lose their lives in the state in 2026.
While commending the Kaduna State Government for its efforts to address insecurity, MACBAN called on security agencies to intensify operations against criminal elements and strengthen the protection of law-abiding citizens across the state.
The association also urged the Kaduna State Government to strengthen local security networks and improve intelligence gathering through greater collaboration among security agencies, traditional rulers, community leaders and other relevant stakeholders.
MACBAN said stronger cooperation and the timely sharing of information would help prevent criminal activities, protect lives and livelihoods, and promote sustainable development across Kaduna State and Nigeria.
