Team Nigeria claims four more gold medals on Tuesday at the African games in Ghana to take its gold medal haul to 31 and maintain second position on the table behind Egypt
Elizabeth Anyanacho defeated Egypt’s number one, Mohammed Aya in the women’s up to 67kg class to claim the gold medal. The rabat 2019 African games bronze medalist had defeated Morocco’s Safia Salih in the semi+final to guarantee at least a silver medal and went all the way in the final to claim gold.
In athletics, Chuwuebuka Enekwechi lived up to his ratings to claim gold in the men’s shot put with a 21.06m put. The 31-year-old Purdie university graduate beat Egypt’s Hassan Mostafa to silver while Mohammed Hamza also from Egypt got bronze.

In the women’s triple jump, Ruth Usoro covered 13.08m to outleap others and claim gold while Omolara Omotosho powered Team Nigeria to victory in the 4×400 mixed relay race returning in three minutes 13. 25 seconds to claim gold.
At the end of competitions on Tuesday, Nigeria remains second with a total a total 85 medals 31 gold, 22 silver and 32 bronze medals.
