Cross River State Government has Promised a hitch-free population and housing census as the state inaugurated its publicity and Security committee.
Speaking during the inauguration, the State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Eric Anderson, said the 2023 census would go beyond headcount to identifying both human and other variables that make census data in Nigeria.
Anderson Pledged the readiness of Cross River State Government to support in the area of logistics, security and publicity before the exercise commences.
According to the Commissioner, Cross River will be exceptional during the national census billed to hold between May 3 to May 7, 2023, in all 774 Local Government across the Country.

On his part, the National Population Commission Federal Commissioner representing Cross River, Retired Captain Charles Ogwa, who said the census exercise will be technological-based, explained that distribution of materials have commenced in all the eighteen Local Government Areas of Cross River State.
The Inauguration was attended by members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, the National Orientation Agency, market traders associations, Christian Association of Nigeria CAN and representatives of security agencies.
