As political parties begin campaigns for the 2023 general elections, the head of the Federal civil service, Folasade Yemi-esan has challenged civil servants to stay with the core values of public service and to maintain non-partisanship.
Folasade Yemi-Esan who was represented by Terver Dangana at the delegates Conference of the Federal Council of the Nigerian civil service union, said losing confidence in the civil service, will most certainly have dire consequences on the overall structure of governance.

The Federal Capital territory minister, Muhammed Bello, represented by the Permanent Secretary, Adesola Olusade, on his part challenged the unions to be mindful of resorting to the National Industrial court on matters which can easily be settled out of court
Various Leaders of the Nigeria civil service union, led by immediate past president, Lawrence Amaechi asked workers to maintain decorum and peaceful associations at all times.
