The Commandant Samuel Dan at a one-day sensitization workshop for divisional officers and area commanders at its headquarters in Benin City, says the workshop is a aimed at developing strategic policy guidelines that would enhance the capacity of its personnel during the polls.
It has been training and retraining of NSCDC personnel in Edo state in the last four months towards the 2023 general election.
According to the commandant, Samuel Dan, the trainings have become necessary for operatives of the corps in order for them to be conversant with the processes and conduct of the new electoral law.

The NSCDC boss assured citizens of the state protection during the election with a promise to collaborate with other security agencies to protect personnel and facilities of the independent National electoral Commission, INEC against hostile attackers.
While commandant Samuel Dan is hopeful of a hitch free general election he however used the opportunity to present the revised code of conduct and rules of engagement for security personnel on electoral duty to the eighteen divisional officers, eight area commanders and other officers who were present at the workshop.
