Building a prosperous Nigeria requires commitment and strategic leadership anchored on security of lives and a robust economy.

The presidential candidate of the All progressives congress, APC, Ahmed Tinubu and that of the labour party, LP, Peter Obi, said this during an interactive sessions for Presidential candidates organised by the Arewa Joint Committee in Kaduna.

The final day of the interactive session for presidential candidates of the various political parties featured the presidential candidates of the All Progressives Congress Ahmed Tinubu and his Counterpart from the Labour Party, Peter Obi.

The Presidential candidate of the New Nigerian People’s Party, Rabiu Kwankwaso, had earlier pulled out due to his schedule and other reasons.

Professor Ango Abdullahi of the Northern Elders Forum and Audu Ogbeh of the Arewa Consultative Forum in their remarks highlighted challenges of the north and sought to know what the presidential candidates will do to salvage the region if voted in 2023.

The APC Presidential candidate, Ahmed Tinubu, said his priority if voted to power in 2023 will be to tackle insecurity, improve power generation, restructuring and create more opportunities for the Youths in the region.

On his part, Peter Obi insists that Nigeria does not lack people with great ideas but rather what is lacking is the institutional framework and political will.

The Arewa Joint Committee noted that the interactive sessions with the Presidential candidates is not a political campaign but an exercise to x-ray the policy positions of the candidates and what the north stands to benefit.
