As political activities formally begins with campaigns , Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello has called on groups or individuals planning to hide under the cover of political activities to disrupt peace in the state to desist from it, warning that such acts will be vehemently resisted.
Bello who handed down the warning at a stakeholders meeting with traditional leaders in the state, called on the monarchs to advise their subjects especially those engaged in politics to tread with caution.
By INEC’s timetable, formal electioneering campaigns began on Wednesday with politicians and their supporters taking their campaign messages to the people.

While assuring that enabling environment will be provided for all political parties to sell their campaign messages to the electorate, Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello warned that disrupting the existing peace in the state will not be tolerated.
President of Kogi State Council of Chiefs, the Attah Igala, Matthew Alhaji Opaluwa, Ogwuch Akpa, commended the security initiatives of the Governor and wants all citizens to reciprocate his efforts.
The stakeholders meeting with the royal fathers was the third in the last two months aimed at ensuring peace before, during and after the 2023 general elections.
