A former banker, Dauda Lawal-Dare, has emerged the Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the just concluded re-run primary election, ahead of the 2023 General Election in Zamfara State, Northwest, Nigeria.
Dauda Lawal-Dare polled 422 votes to emerge winner.
Ibrahim Shehu and Hafiz Mohammed got one vote each, while Wadat Madawaki scored zero.
The chairman of the committee sent from the PDP headquarters in Abuja to conduct the fresh Primary Election, Hassan Hyet, described the exercise as peaceful, transparent and credible.
While 455 delegates were to participate in the re-run primary election, 431 were accredited and 428 were the total number of votes cast.
A Federal High Court in Gusau in the Zamfara State capital, had last Friday, nullified the primary election of the PDP, and ordered that a fresh primary election be conducted.
