Nigerian women have been told to prepare early for the 2023 general elections if they must achieve their 50 percent representation target.
The women said despite their efforts to have more women , their representation in elected positions after the 2019 general elections witnessed a decline as only 4.7 percent emerged against the 5.6 in the 2015 general elections.
The women said they are set to achieve 35 percent representation in the 2023 elections with new strategies to mobilise and track women aspirants across all political parties, ensuring that they are not marginalised.
The women also called on President Muhammadu Buhari to give assent to the electoral bill when it is represented to him by the National Assembly.
