Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike says, his party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, can no longer afford the situation where its members deliberately instigate crisis within its ranks if it truly wants to win the next general elections.
The governor said the warning has become necessary because of what he said is an evil plot, hatched by some elements to fuel crisis within the PDP, using his name.

Speaking at the commissioning of the VIP Lounge at the Port Harcourt International Airport, Governor Wike noted that while he has been busy in Rivers State, working on how the PDP would win the 2023 General Elections, some others have chosen to remain in Abuja, to spread falsehood about him.
The current phase of project flag-off and commissioning in Rivers State resumed after a three-day interval.
On Tuesday, Governor Nyesom Wike returned to the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa, to inaugurate the VIP Lounge built and furnished for the Federal Airports Authority by his administration.
It is coming a few days after his administration also commissioned a 5,000-capacity auditorium for another federal agency, the National Youth Service Corps.
The event, which had Bauchi State Governor in attendance, provides Governor Wike with the opportunity to speak on issues bordering his mind.
He is accusing some PDP members of launching a smear campaign against him to fuel the crisis within the party.
He warned that the action of such elements is capable of jeopardizing the chances of the party in the next election.
And unlike others, Governor Wike says he is an asset to the PDP.
And for the PDP to secure victory in 2023, the Rivers State Governor wants every member of the party to go to their wards and campaign vigorously for the party.
