Some women groups in Enugu State, South East Nigeria are partnering with the State government in mobilising rural women to obtain their Permanent Voters Cards, PVCs in the ongoing Continuous Voters Registration exercise.
The women were at the Government House, Enugu to brief Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi on their campaigns, targeting women in the rural areas of the State.
The State Deputy Governor, Cecilia Ezilo who received the women groups commended them for the support in the ongoing voters registration campaign.
The leader of the women, Juliet Ani assures that they will not relent until their target registered voters strength is achieved.
Meanwhile reports from various voters registration centers across Enugu state indicate that the exercise is facing manpower and logistics challenges to meet the large turnout of eligible voters to register as the 30th June, 2022 date to end the exercise draws closer.
Some of the prospective registrants complain of long hours they spend on days without getting a chance to register
