Former President Goodluck Jonathan has rejected the purchase of the All Progressives Congress nomination form for him by the Miyeti Allah Cattle Breeders Association.
A statement by his media aide, Ikechukwu Eze said Jonathan is not aware of the bid and did not authorize those who purchased the form.

“While we appreciate the overwhelming request by a cross-section of Nigerians for Dr. Jonathan to make himself available for the 2023 Presidential election, we wish to state that he has not in any way, committed himself to this request”, the statement added.
According to Eze, buying a presidential aspiration form in his name, without his consent, knowing the position he had held in the country, was considered an insult.

Watchers of political events in Nigeria will be keeping tabs on whether the rejection by the former President will deter him from contesting as it has been widely rumoured that there are clandestine moves to ensure that Jonathan stays in the 2023 presidential race.
