Elder Statemen from the South and the Middle belt regions of Nigeria led by Chief Edwin Clark have thrown their weight behind the Presidential aspiration of the candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi with a promise to ensure his victory at the polls on the 25th of February.
The leaders, therefore, enjoined every citizen of the country to join them in realizing the dream of making Obi the next President and helping solidify Nigeria’s democracy.

The group of leaders reached the political decision at the end of the Extraordinary meeting of the Southern and Middle Belt Leaders Forum in Abuja where they warned that they will resist any attempt from any quarters to scuttle the election.
The leaders are made up of the Middle- Belt, Ndi- Igbo( Ohaneaze, Afenifere, Pan Niger Delta Forum, PANDEF.
The communique at the end of the meeting was read by the immediate past President General of the umbrella body of Ndigbo Worldwide, the Ohanaeze, Chief John Nnia Nwodo.
