2024 Workers’ Day : Ekiti Labour Leaders Demand Electricity Tariffs Reduction, N600,000 Minimum Wage

Labour leaders in Ekiti state have appealed to the federal government to expedite action and ensure speedy conclusion of negotiations of the new minimum wage.

The labour leaders who spoke in Ado Ekiti during the 2024 May day celebration also demanded an immediate reduction in electricity tariff in the country.

They said labour centers in the country have resolved to peg their request for the new minimum wage at six hundred thousand Naira.

The Governor of Ekiti state, Biodun Oyebanji who attended the workers’ day celebration said his administration will negotiate with labour leaders in the state immediately the federal government concludes negotiations.

He added that he will continue to strive to make life meaningful for workers in Ekiti state.
