Organised labour in Nigeria is calling on Workers in the country to hold the government accountable for their woes, as it demanded for a Living wage amidst economic hardships.

This was the message delivered at the Eagle Square in Abuja, the Nigerian Federal capital city on 2025 Workers Day celebration, just as the government maintains its promises for fair Labour practices, improved welfare and better working conditions.

Behind the dancing and carnival like celebration at the Abuja event of the 2025 International Workers Day, hunger and anger were the workers anthem

President Bola Tinubu, represented by Labour and Employment Minister, Mohammed Dingyyadi led other government finctionaries to appeal for more patience regarding the implementation of the batting economic reforms.

Veteran Labour leaders reacted to the situation of today’s working people amidst global technological advancements.

Beyond the demand for fair treatment, Nigerian workers are also making a strong demand to end open defecation across the country.

The theme of the 2025 Workers’ Day is Reclaiming the Civic Space in the Midst of Economic Hardship.
