National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Ajibola Basiru, has met with Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke to discuss efforts to secure support in the state for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
Basiru explained that the visit was also to congratulate the Governor on his victory at the polls and thank him for attending the burial of his late mother.
Speaking with newsmen after a courtesy visit to the Governor at the Government House in Osogbo on Sunday, Basiru said the Governor did not only endorse President Tinubu for a second term but also said he is ready to hit the ground running to campaign for his re-election.
He said the last Governorship election should not divide the state along party lines, stressing the need for APC members to close ranks ahead of the Presidential election and urged the populace to embrace peace to ensure the state’s development.
Basiru added that the cooperation between the APC and Accord Party in the state will deliver about 1.5 million votes for the President during the general elections next year.
