The Allied Peoples Movement has alleged a plot involving some officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission to hand over millions of unclaimed Permanent Voter Cards to agents of the ruling All Progressives Congress ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a statement by its Director of Strategic Communications, Richard Ihediwa, the party called on the electoral commission to investigate the allegation and disclose the number of uncollected voter cards in its custody.
The party further alleged that compromised electoral officials could enable unregistered persons to use the cards to manipulate voting at polling units.
It demanded a state-by-state breakdown of unclaimed voter cards and details of the security measures in place to prevent unauthorised access or transfer.
The Allied Peoples Movement also urged Nigerians to monitor activities at polling units and report suspicious developments to security agencies and accredited election observers.
