The Allied Peoples Movement, APM, has affirmed former Commissioner for Finance, Yakubu Adamu, as its governorship candidate, while Governor Bala Mohammed emerged as the party’s candidate for Bauchi South Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The declaration ceremony, attended by party members and supporters from the twenty local government areas of the state, took place at Government House, Bauchi, in the presence of representatives of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.


In his acceptance speech, the APM governorship candidate, Yakubu Adamu, called on party members and supporters to remain united and committed towards securing victory for the party in the forthcoming elections.

He pledged to consolidate on the achievements recorded in Bauchi State over the past seven years, with focus on economic growth, education, healthcare delivery, infrastructure development, and youth empowerment for sustainable development.
On his part, Governor Bala Mohammed, who was affirmed as the party’s candidate for Bauchi South Senatorial District, described the movement as people-oriented and urged citizens not to support what he termed opportunistic politicians capable of returning the state to an era of prolonged verification exercises and mismanagement of public resources.

Governor Bala Mohammed also called on the people of Bauchi State to support the movement in its efforts to sustain good governance and deliver more dividends of democracy to the citizens.
