The Kabiru Turaki led interim leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has ratified former President Goodluck Jonathan as its Presidential candidate for the 2027 general election at the special national convention held at the party’s office in Area 10, Garki District of Abuja, the nation’s capital.
The PDP faction was bared from using its already scheduled venue at the A- Class Event Centre in Wuse II District but resolved to rather use its office at Area 10 in Garki District for the event where it formally ratified former President Jonathan as it 2027 presidential candidate.

Party chieftains who led members say the affirmation of the consensus candidate is a ceremonial event as the main event where the former president was first announced had already taken place adding also that a date to handover the flag of the party to him will be announced.
Jonathan was not around at the venue of the affirmation but his certificate of return was received on his behalf by a member of the House of Representatives from Bayelsa State, Fred Agbedi.
