The Inspector-General of Police, Olukayode Disu, has assured Nigerians that no political party or candidate will receive preferential treatment from the Nigeria Police Force ahead of the off-cycle and 2027 general elections.
Speaking during a meeting with the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Joash Amupitan, at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, the IGP said the police would remain neutral and committed to peaceful, free, and violence-free elections.
He also assured INEC of adequate security support and called for stronger collaboration among stakeholders to safeguard the electoral process.
