Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT and leader of the Rainbow Coalition, Nyesom Wike, has met behind closed doors with Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara in Port Harcourt.
The meeting, held at the Governor’s private residence, was not open to the media, with details of the discussions also not made public.
The FCT Minister who arrived for the meeting at a few minutes after 4pm local time was received by Governor Fubara.
The two political leaders and other members of the Rainbow Coalition proceeded into a private session, with no official statement issued on the outcome of the meeting.
The meeting comes amid ongoing efforts by members of the Rainbow Coalition to consolidate the political reconciliation and recent political realignments in Rivers State and developments within the Rainbow Coalition ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Wike, a former governor of Rivers State, has remained a prominent figure in the state’s political affairs, while Governor Fubara recently aligned with the Rainbow Coalition and declared support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid.
Neither Governor Fubara nor Minister Wike addressed journalists after the meeting.
There was also no official commnique or statement issued at the end of the closed-door meeting.
Sources however told AIT.live that the meeting was very successful with all the parties agreeing to set aside their differences and unite as one family.
They further agreed to to work for the common good of the state and for the successful re-election of President Bola. Tinubu.
The two political leaders have held a series of engagements in recent months as part of the reconciliation process.
