Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki has commended Nigerians for holding steadfast to their belief in one Nigeria, noting that they have defied the odds in working to achieve shared prosperity and economic advancement.
Governor Obaseki who made this commendation in a statement to celebrate the 62nd anniversary of the country’s independence, praised the indomitable Nigerian spirit, which has buoyed the average Nigerian to trudge on despite the tremendous challenges, particularly in the last seven years, with rising insecurity, communal clashes and unprecedented economic gloom.
Obaseki noted the concerted efforts the Edo State Government has made to make life bearable for the people, working with the limited resources at its disposal to deliver on infrastructure projects, transformation of the civil and public service, creating avenues for inflow of private investment and providing a pathway for the empowerment of the youths.
He says inspite of political distractions, the State Government has consistently kept eyes on the ball, continuing to prioritise the interest of citizens and reconfiguring the economy to be responsive, vibrant and productive.
