An 80-year-old woman, Aishat Bisallah, who is a farmer and petty trader, was among the 250 beneficiaries who received cash support of N100,000 each too 5boost their petty trades in Niger State, North-Central Nigeria for the first time in her life.
The gesture from the wife of the Niger State Governor, Fatima Bago, was solely targeted at the aged, widows, persons with disabilities and the less privileged who engaged in petty trade to boost their trade and contribute to their families as well as to make them self-sufficient.
It was a joyful and sober moment for 80-year-old woman who is a widow with children. She was lucky for the first time in her life to be among the 250 benefitting petty traders.

Bisallah, apart from the other beneficiaries, sells ground okro and baobab, known as kuka in the Hausa language, and says the cash will go a long way in boosting her trade and farm located at Gidan Kwano.
For Fatima Bago, the gesture is an afterthought aimed at giving back to society and supporting struggling petty traders to boost their businesses.
According to the beneficiaries, they were all contacted at their places of trade by the roadside for the cash support, which Bago said is going to be a continuous activity.
