Some Party Agents have staged a protest at the Presidential election results collation in Owerri, Imo state after the exercise which was suspended for a short break, resumed around 1 pm, Monday.

With results from additional six Local Government Areas received by INEC to raise the numbers collated to twenty Councils at the time of this report, the exercise was however disrupted as protesting political party agents accused INEC of manipulating the results in favour of the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC.

State Chairman of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, Marshal Okafor-Anyanwu, and the PDP Agent, Martins Ejiogu, demanded that INEC rejects results from Okigwe and Oru East Local Government Areas alleging that, elections did not take place in most of the Wards, but results generated.

It took the intervention of security agents to restore normalcy at the collation center as the APC agent, Cyprian Akaolisa insisted that INEC should accept the results, arguing that the Commission lacked the powers to reject any result presented by Collation officers.

The State Collation Officer, Professor Charles Esimone urged the protesting parties to make a formal complaints for onward presentation to the INEC Chairman in Abuja.
