Adamawa Governor visits Troops in Madagali

The Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Fintiri, says officers and men of the Nigerian Army should be applauded for their efforts in the fight against insurgency in the North-East.

The Governor said this when he visited the Desert Warriors of 144 Battalion in Madagali Local Government Area of the state.

Governor Fintiri said that the spate of attacks by the Boko Haram terrorist group has reduced drastically in the state.

The Governor’s visit to the Base of Desert Warriors of 144 Battalion of the Nigerian Army in Madagali is to dine with them with the intention to rekindle their morale in the fight against insurgency.

Governor Fintiri said that his administration will continue to support the Army and other security agencies in a bid to liberate the state from the activities of insurgents and other forms of criminality.

The Commanding Officer of the Battalion, Lieutenant-Colonel Usman Abdussalam, said the officers and men of the Nigerian Army will not relent in the discharge of their duties.

The District Head of Gulak in Madagali Local Government Area, Bello Ijadi, and some other residents of Madagali said that the surprise visit by the Governor is another way to smoothen the cordial relationship between the Army and the people.
