The All Nigeria Nationals in the Diaspora Election Observation group says the 2023 election fell below the expectation of the electorate.

The group announced this Friday in Abuja, during a presentation of its preliminary report of February 25 2023, presidential and national assembly elections in Nigeria

The All Nigerian Nationals in Diaspora, ANNIDS that monitored the elections in 22 states and the FCT has scored the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, low, as a result of avoidable lapses like late arrival of INEC officials, widespread irregularities, over voting, violence and disenfranchisement of eligible voters.

They also condemned the decision of INEC to ignore the transmission of results from polling units, contrary to Its Earlier Promise.

They however commended INEC for making provision for persons with disabilities, the elderly and pregnant women. The group also promised to present its recommendations at the end of the next round of elections on March 11.

The All Nigeria Nationals in the Diaspora Election Observation group is a group of Nigerian professionals living abroad, in different countries, contributing to developments back home.
