The Nigerian Army has rewarded some officers and men of the Operation Lafiya Dole who have distinguished themselves on the battle field and for their gallantry, professionalism, commitment, and other exemplary conduct in the face of adversary.
A statement by the Army Operations Media Coordinator, Colonel Aminu Illiyasu, said that 37 officers and soldiers are to receive the meritorious awards.
Among the beneficiaries are commanding officers, captains, lieutenants, staff sergeants, corporals, and privates.
The statement added that while the distinguished officers are to be given special letters of commendation, the soldiers are each to be granted special promotions to their next higher ranks.

The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant-General Tukur Buratai, congratulated the men for their commitments in the fight against insurgency and urged them to maintain the tempo.
