The corps marshal, federal road safety corps,  FRSC Boboye Oyeyemi and the Inspector-General of police, Muhammad Adamu have agreed to begin a strategic operation that will put an end to abuse of sirens,  spy number plates and incessant covering of vehicle number plates in the country.

The decision was reached during a working visit of the corps marshal to the Inpector-General of police at the force headquarters in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

Speaking during the visit, the corps marshal lamented the rate of abuse of sirens, spy number plates, unnecessary covering of vehicle number plates, continuous knockdown ofFRSC personnel on duty among others.

While responding, the inspector-general of police also noted that more strategic initiatives will be deployed to enhance existing collaboration that will ensure swift recovery of stolen vehicles.

Oyeyemi commended the IGP for the existing synergy and intelligence sharing between the two organisations which according to him, has led to the recovery of several stolen vehicles through the instrumentality of the national vehicle identification scheme database of the corps.
