Four Armed Gang Members Killed In Ebonyi

The joint security operatives of the Police and the Military operating in Ebonyi State, South East Nigeria have killed three suspected armed gang members, during a gun duel in Akaeze, Ivo Local Government Area of the State.

The operatives say, they also arrested two of the suspects, and recovered assorted weapons and charms, but lost a Police officer in the encounter.

Commissioner of Police in the State, CP Faleye Olaleye, told Journalists at the Command’s headquarters, Abakaliki, that the operation began on Tuesday night and lasted till the early hours of Wednesday, pointing out that the incident has nothing to do with the upcoming elections.

Meanwhile, Security Chiefs in the State led by CP Faleye on Wednesday, engaged various political parties and their governorship candidates in another round of peace talks, ahead of Saturday, March 11, 2023 polls.

Though this time, only one candidate attended the parley, as others sent in representatives.
