The Department of State Services (DSS) has arrested two suspects over alleged deliberate incitement of violence in parts of Kano State.

This was contained in a statement released by Peter Afunanya, the Public Relations Officer of DSS on Thursday.

He said the suspects had separately recorded messages and shared them through various social media channels.

Those arrested are Sharu Abubakar Tabula and Ismail Iliyasu Mnagu

In the messages, they specifically championed certain political interests and called on their supporters to violently attack those opposed to them.

The suspects also called for attacks on security personnel during Saturday”s Governorship and House of Assembly elections in the state.

Afunanya also said a political party in Kano threatened to organize a protest march in the metropolis over the planned attacks.

He said the political party planned to storm the offices of some security agencies on March 16 in solidarity with the suspects.

Afunanya said that the DSS was collaborating with other security agencies to ensure adequate security is provided to ensure Saturday’s elections are peacefully conducted
