The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Governorship candidate in Enugu State, Peter Mba has been declared winner of the keenly contested election.
Announcing the result at the INEC Collation Centre in Enugu, the Returning Officer and Vice Chancellor of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike in Abia state, Professor Maduebibisi, Iwe, said the PDP candidate polled the highest number of 160,895 votes while his closest rival, Chijioke Edoega of Labour Party scored 157,552 votes.

All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, come third with 17,983 votes, while the All Progressives Congress, APC secured 14,575 votes.
