8 insurgents surrender amid Boko Haram leadership in disarray

At least 8 Boko Haram fighters along with 14 of their family members, have surrendered to troops of 152 Task Force Battalion at Banki  town in Bama Local Government Area of Borno State.

A statement by the Media Coordinator, Nigerian Army Operations, Colonel Aminu lliyasu says, during preliminary interrogation, the surrendered terrorists  disclosed that their leadership has been in disarray for the past 4 months.

In another development, troops on clearance operations in Gudumbali, Guzamala Local Government Area of Borno State have rescued 126  Boko Haram captives.

Colonel Ilyasu notes that, troops  in Kaduna, Katsina, Niger, Zamfara and Cross River States have intercepted  criminals, rescued kidnapped victims and recovered weapons and stolen items.
