The Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has sworn-in former Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Konbowei Benson, as the new Secretary to the State Government, SSG.
The Governor, shortly after the swearing-in, charged the SSG to see his new position as a call to serve the people of the state, drive the policies, and programmes of the administration for the development of Bayelsa State.
The Bayelsa Governor further noted that he is confident the former Speaker would bring his wealth of experience to bear having served the public in various capacities.

Benson served as Speaker from 2012 to 2019 which makes him the longest-serving Speaker of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly.
