Firefighters from the nearby Nyanya Fire station battled alongside other emergency services to contain the blaze and protect residents.
Three fire trucks were deployed to put out the fire while brave residents were seen scooping water from nearby gutters in an attempt to douse the flames.
Eyewitnesses say the petrol station which only operates during fuel scarcity, was earlier shut down for racketeering but resumed operations a few weeks ago.
