The legal team representing the deposed Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II says his purported removal was illegal and unconstitutional.
The team lead by Abubakar Mahmud SAN insist that his detention and banishment to a remote Village in Nasarawa State is also a gross violation of his fundamental human rights that would be challenged in court on Wednesday.

The team, however, said the right to challenge the his illegal dethronement lies with the Emir but that he has not given them a brief to that effect.
The team also called on the Inspector-General of Police and the Attorney-General of the Federation to ensure his immediate release to regain his liberty.
