Following anti-party activity allegations leveled against some government appointees, during the last elections in Cross River State, the All Progressives Congress, APC, wants Governor Ben Ayade to delay the March 2023 salaries of some of them by two weeks to enable them to establish the true position.
The Party in a statement signed by the State Publicity Secretary, Erasmus Ekpang, announced the Constitution of a Special Committee for Identification, Report, Reprimand, and Discipline of Anti-Party Activities in the last National and State Elections among APC members in the state.

According to the statement, payment of salaries to all political appointees at the state and local government levels should be put on hold until the party concludes the investigation of its members suspected to have engaged in anti-party activities.
The party explained that a disciplinary committee was instituted following a request by members and other stakeholders during the review of the conduct of the elections.
Governor Ben Ayade lost the Senatorial election alongside two serving members of the House of Representatives from Northern Cross River State, which was attributed in some quarters to anti-party activities by some APC stalwarts in the state.
